Chief Rabbi’s Schools Review

Transforming Jewish Education in the UK
Chief Rabbi’s Schools Review

A Vision for the Future

In February 2024, Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis launched an ambitious three-year project that encompasses 33 Jewish schools across the United Kingdom. Joining UnitEd's strategic growth process program, in partnership with Israel's Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism, PaJeS UK, Office of the Chief Rabbi and the United Synagogue, this initiative demonstrates the potential for lasting institutional change.

A Strategic Framework for Sustainable Growth

The first phase of the process was an in-depth study of the UK's Jewish educational ecosystem. This research, conducted by Rosov Consulting, was designed to evaluate the current landscape for both structural and substantive improvements, creating a foundation for equipping young Jews to thrive while maintaining deep connections to their heritage in an increasingly complex world.

The Chief Rabbi’s Schools Review’s multi-phase structure ensures comprehensive transformation rather than superficial change. Following the completion of the research and recommendations in the first phase, a second phase is working with those school educators to develop recommendations to address the challenges leading into a third phase of implementation.
