Increasing Enrollment in Melbourne’s Jewish day schools

UnitEd and the Jewish Education Foundation of Melbourne, Australia find innovative ways to overcome the barrier to enrollment in Melbourne’s Jewish day schools
Increasing Enrollment in Melbourne’s Jewish day schools

Addressing the Need

Addressing declining percentages of enrollments in Jewish day schools in Melbourne, The Jewish Education Foundation was formed to reverse that trend. In partnership with UnitEd and six participating Jewish day schools in the city, the Independent Fee Assessment Board (FAB) was created allowing families an easy and shame-free way to apply for tuition reduction. This effort has born remarkable fruit with approximately 200 new students joining or expected to join a Jewish day school.

Making Jewish Education Accessible

To further the effort, all six schools jointly participated in making a marketing video for the Melbourne Jewish community promoting the value proposition of Jewish day schools in the area. This effort has helped unify the Jewish educational community while promoting the notion that there is place for every child interested in a Jewish day school.
